A7V133 and Windows XP PC Hangs

I have an A7V133 motherboard with RAID. I have the C or boot drive with the
Windows XP Home edition installed on the Promise primary IDE connector. I
have an additional hard disk drive that I use to store my data files
connected to the secondary of the Promise IDE connector. I do not have a
RAID set up. On the IDE controller connectors by the floppy connector, I
have a CD ROM drive connected to the primary and a CD ROM drive connected to
the secondary. Just recently when I try to access my data files I have
noticed after a few mouse clicks and scroll downs that my mouse hangs up and
the PC freezes. I have to reboot to get it back again but it does it again.
I have disconnected the data drive from the secondary Promise IDE connector
and am able to run the PC (at least for now to write this post) with it not
freezing. I am wondering if I should have my boot drive connected to the
IDE primary connector that is located up by the floppy connector and connect
my CD ROM drives to the Promise IDE connectore or what? What could cause my
PC to freeze like that and when I disconnected the data drive all seems to
work ok?

Thanks for all and any help.

had a sililar setup to you and in my case it turned out to be a usb modem
the drive connections should work fine try removing all other stuff and see
whether the problem persisits add things slowly or is your power supply ok
or do you have a bad memory stick?
