a7v133 and promise

I have an a7v133 and would like to install a new maxtor ATA/100 120GB drive,
and was considering placing it on the promise controller. Were the data
corruption problems ever resolved on this? Otherwise, I will put it on the
regular controller.

I am uncertain if this was due to 686 chip issues or to the Promise
controller.

It was the 686B together with SB cards.

I would imagine the newer drivers have fixed the problem.

As I said I never experienced any data corruption problem while using
RAID1 on my A7V133 boards during 2.5 years.
I use Windows 98SE from the RAID array and start Windows XP from an
extra harddisk attached to the regular VIA primary port.
(I have Creative Sound Blaster Live hardware on both computers but
removed "SB Live emulation" from Device Manager maybe that helped.)
I think VIA cured the data corruption problems with a later 4in1 driver.
