A7N8X-X...Lan issues

Hey guys and girls,

Tried getting the on-board lan runing and i and can not recieve and
packets.....only send.....I have tried every driver and I even tried an
external nic and no luck.....I have even used the networking wizard and no
luck.
I installed XP pro (without sp1) XP home edition (with sp1) still the
same.....Any ideas????

An "External" Nic?
Sounds to me like you have the wrong cable, Crossover in place of Straight
or Straight in place of crossover...

Delete the nic and reboot.
You can get an ipconfig utility for XP. What is says when you release,
renew all, will give an indication of the problem. BTW, nics perfect
with Win98SE. You are using the top one? And not the bottom jack which
is output only for another box.

What are you connecting this machine to? Another PC, hub, router, DSL/Cable
modem?
