A7N8X USB problems

I've read widely of USB problems with A7N8X boards, and
my new A7N8X-X seems to have one of these problems.

If I plug a USB 2.0 device (6-in-1 card reader) into a mobo
USB 2 port, the thing works ok initially. However, after some
time the card reader is dropped from the devices, but may return
some time later. This repeats. My USB 1 mouse, keyboard,
and printer exhibit no such symptoms.

I've read that putting a hub in the mix might alleviate the
problem, but it does not. What happens is the that the
USB 2 hub is recognized, but when I connect the device
Windows XP says it has no driver for the device. This
takes quite a long time (5 minutes or so). I tried two
different USB 2 hubs, both act the same.

One other symptom is that when the card reader is plugged in
but sitting idle, there remains an added load on the CPU which
actually raises the temp observably.

I haven't read of any solution to these problems, but if anyone
has any suggestions I would appreciate them. I would RMA
the board, but I can get by if I just plug the card reader in
when I want to use it.
