A7N8X-E Deluxe w/ 3200+: Failed due to O/C, plus no keyboard found!

After my issues earlier this week with upgrading my CPU, I ordered a
new A7N8X-E Deluxe, knowing that it doesn't have the 400FSB problems
that the old A7N8X Deluxe did, which appeared to do my old board in.

I dropped everything (XP 3200+, 2 sticks RAM, Radeon 9800 Pro) into
this new motherboard, and booted up. Once it booted up, all seemed
well. I went into BIOS to make sure everything was set right, and set
fairly conservatively, for the first boot-up. It did. I saved and
restarted - it wouldn't restart. So I hit Reset a few times (took
three tries), and the thing booted up into Windows 2K. It got into
Windows and started finding new hardware, (new motherboard and all).
It prompted me for action, and I couldn't move my mouse. I couldn't
hit Enter, either.

I rebooted the computer. Now the voice POST system is saying "System
failed due to overclocking" and "No keyboard detected" when I boot up!
It boots up as an 1100MHz Athlon, but stops because it thinks there's
no keyboard. I've got a USB keyboard and mouse connected to the
system, and the BIOS is set to support USB keyboards in legacy apps
(i.e. if I need to go into AwardFlash, or use a boot disk).

Any ideas? After being down for almost a week, this is really
frustrating. I'm hoping that I don't have a dead/faulty part here
somewhere, be it the CPU or the Motherboard. Everything else here was
working fine before the CPU upgrade, so it's not really suspect.

Have you tried emptying the BIOS.
You have to unplug, remove the battery,
change the jumper position. Then not forget
to reset the jumper to default, etc.

Hi Erik,
a) use a PS/2 kb
b) use the standard BIOS Settings
What FSB are U using? 133MHz/166/200? I'v a Barton 1833/166 in this
Board and works perfectly. RAM/GC and PSU is often a source of
problems in my experience.
Cheers

Hi Erik,

That's a no-brainer, but it's not a long-term solution unless I want to throw
away my keyboard and mouse. Not gonna happen. :)

As I said, it's a 3200+, so the standard setting is 200MHz x 11.0. The PSU
isn't an issue, I've already eliminated that (tried another one). I'm nearly
positive that the GC and RAM aren't issues, as I swapped those out while
troubleshooting a previous problem on another motherboard. Additionally, both
have been in use for awhile with no problems.
