A7N8X Dlx SATA two drives problem

Hi

I have an Asus A7N8X DeLuxe motherboard and I have just bought two Hitachi
160 GB SATA harddrives.

I can install WinXP on each of the disks if only one is connected. However
if I connect both with WinXP installed on one of the drives, then the system
won't boot. It can show the WinXP splash screen but then it freezes.

I'm not running RAID, is that required when having two SATA hard disks
connected?

Any other suggestions to solve the problem?

Raid not required.

Have two SATA HD on the same board; It boots from the
first one.

I wonder if your boot drive is on connector SATA 1.

You need to F6 during the win setup to install the Raid drivers, whether or
not use use Raid, and set bios boot to SCSI
