Indeed, you are Correct that Avast does NOT work on X64 Beta 2 (on both
Client and Server), just FYI.

Which A/V (if any) works in Beta2 (5384.4) 64-bit? I have tried:

CA eTrust EZ
TrendMicro PC-cillin
AVG
Avast 4.7
NOD32

and at best the real time scanner does not work, at worst they fubar the OS.
Avast and NOD32 are advertised as working in 64-bit XP so my hopes were high
for them but no joy.
Thank you.

I am with AOL in the UK. 2meg line on using thompson wireless router, pc
connected via ethernet. Avast stops my pc getting to the internet with
anything. I had tried EZ first but no realtime protection.

NOD32 actually doesn't work under Vista (both x86 and x64 versions).
It seems like it's working, but in fact, it doesn't, because it induces a
100% CPU utilization all the time. That's not really what I would call a
well-functioning A/V under Vista.
