A Read receipt for a deleated email Keeps sending

I have a read receipt for a message that has been deleted and removed from
the delete folder but the read receipt is still trying to send. I have run a
Deep Scan Virus check and found nothing.
Any Ideas how I can remove the Read receipt as it does not show up in the
outbox or draft.
I am using Outlook 2003

You'll need to either change the smtp so it can send or delete it.
