a protection monitor registry tool

I found this gem over in alt's anti-virus ng. It's a GREAT real-time
registry monitor & protection tool!
RegistryProt program is a real alternative to Spybot's (sometimes)
problematic "tea timer" option.
just my opinion, but i think it is the superior program. i'm curious,
post your thoughts & experience with RegistryProt.

-----------------------------------------------------
RegistryProt is a 100% free, stand-alone, compact, low-level real-time
registry monitor and protector, that adds another dimension to Windows
security and intrusion detection.
By monitoring important locations and keys in the Windows system
registry, RegistryProt will alert whenever a register key is added or
changed, and then give the option of accepting the key change, reverting
back to the original key setting, or deleting the key.

RegistryProt's most useful attribute is that it will detect the vast
majority of trojans at the exact moment that they infect/install
themselves into your system, and as such provides a new dimension in
trojan and intrusion detection.

RegistryProt alerts that an important key has been modified:

RegistryProt is a very small, yet powerful and efficient low-level
monitoring program that would go well along side your favourite security
applications.

I used regprot for over a year (w98) but had problems with it and steven
burns index.dat suite.Sometimes the run.bat would not get entered into the
run keys even though IDS said it had.I knew it hadnt because regprot did not
pop up with the change.I have no problems whatsover Running IDS without
regprot running.I have gone the other way and just use teatimer now as it
works fine with IDS.The initial problems (memory hog etc) with teatimer have
now been overcome with the latest spybot version.

Thanks Bassbag for responding!
I've never used IDS. On this notebook 'puter i'm running XP Pro.
Your saying, Spybot's teatimer now works well with 98 but what about XP?
Anyone else know?
Is there a safe way to remove RegistryProt & install Spybot's teatimer ?

There isn't really anything to uninstall. Registryprot is extremely light
weight, the only thing besides the files in the program folder is the
registrykey that autostarts registryprot and that can be removed by
clicking uninstall in the gui.

You can easily disable or uninstall regprot from startup by going to the
programme folder and clicking the rpadmin.exe.This will bring up the
options.

Cool! I'll try Spybot's new Tea_timer option. Thanks again (folks)
for all the valuable "How to uninstall RegistryProt" info (esp Mr.
Bassbag).
