Hello, there was a problem was found recently, there is no Window Installer
Patch Package when I tried to remove MSN Messenger off the computer. But it
has error message is 1635, but cant find that error message. Can I install
that program from the internet?

Also, the computer was bought last year without Windows CD, because i was
thinking about format the hard drive from the PC. But I was doing a bit of
research to find how to do that, but there is somewhere saying that the pc
has an abitily to boot from the computer without the disk, is that possible?
But have a boot CD my friend made for me due to problem with the laptop. The
computer was called Packard Bell, bought from Dixons, but it didnt come in
with any official Windows CD. If want more details, i will give you more
later.

A google search comes up with multiple links for that error message.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=remove+msn+messenger+xp+error+1635&btnG=Google+Search

One leads you to this MS KB article:
Error Message: 1635 This Patch Package Could Not Be Opened
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812490&Product=winxp

For the second issue contact tech support for the computer to find out
the recovery options and maybe get an installation CD from them.

In reply to your message earlier, thanks for the links, unforunately, I cant
find those things when I tried to find it to remove it. But while I am at it,
I havent been installing Plus! I may add, I do find this strange when I am
trying to find it... Is there other way to do that?

The error message appeared to say "This patch package could not be opened.
Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact
application vendor that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

So I have asked my friends to help, but they havent been replied, this
discussion is a only place I can go at the moment.

Thank you.

You just posted this earlier. You need to have patience. This is a
peer to peer newsgroup with volunteers. It can take 24-48 hours for
someone who knows the answer to see your question. There were quite a
few links in that google search, not just the one article. Did you look
through them all?

Yes I have gone thru them both links, but nothing has found on the computer.
I haven't installed Plus! as have been checked on Control Panel etc. I will
have a double check later.

Sorry about that!
