Hi,

If you could answer my question or refer me to someone, or somewhere, that
can, I'd be very greatful.

My sister got sent a virus, or smething on msn. This sent a message to
everyone online in her contacts. AVG says a virus called 'hosts' is found, in
the system32/drivers/etc folder,,so I deleted it. Whatever it was turned
system restore off, and whenever i open Admin services or msconfig these
windows just close in a zip. THis does not happen in safe mode. Upon
restart, system restore is turned off again. Spybot found, along with
malware, that security centre is turned off. I cant turn on windows
firwewall, andwhen typethe curo skips around.rs
Please help, or direct me to a forum that can.

I think it is a Worm or Exploit.IFrame.Gen and she need to delete this
message from here e-mail.
Then Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, or other appropriate
forums for expert analysis, not here.
Does your Norton Up and current for updates and subscriptions?.
HTH.
