Has anyone ever used Quintessential Player from
http://www.quinnware.com?

Is it really a media player that plays ALL media?

Does it require something like K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, or does it
already have all the codecs it needs?

Thanks!

I used this player for several years. It does come with many codecs. I
stopped using it because I still use shn files and had to have an
additional player for that. I haven't checked it lately but it also
didn't do any video. Winamp is the player with the largest range of
media. Others are videolan and media player classic with extra codecs.

You might try JetAudio
(http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/jetaudio/). Despite its name it
plays video as well. Its a bit on the hefty side though but does not
require a lot of other codecs.

I tried Quintessential for a while but the fact that EQ is limited to
MP3 playback killed it for me. Personally, I find WMP and MPC to be a
good combination.

Quintessential Player is not limited to MP3, but a versatile player with a
lot of plug-ins.
My preferred music player and ripper.
It is, however, not a videoplayer.

I didn't say it was limited to MP3 playback. I said that the EQ was not
global. The EQ has no effect on other media such as CDs, etc. There is
an EQ plugin that is global but it somewhat awkward to use.
