A long pause / delay while creating a new mail or select addressees

I am encountering a long pause / delay while creating a new mail or
selecting addressees. Does anyone having this problem?

I DO too and I hate it too, being used for so many years opening an email in
a speedy way.
I swear I have to wait between 10 to 12 seconds before it stops "wandering"
in the Virtual World.

Just learned why it takes so long to open from your link below :
Probably because I have much too many contacts (over 1 900 . . . )
OE was doing a good job with those contacts, though.

Apparently Windows Mail insists on loading all contacts into memory
when starting a new email. I'm not sure if Windows Live Mail does
the same thing.
