9800Pro - TV out standard jumper?

While I've set up the correct TV standard for use within windows, im
having a problem with the image during boot up/in DOS.

The BIOS screen seem to default to NTSC while I need it to be PAL.

I've heard some cards have a jumper on them to set the default but I
cant find any mention where abouts on the card to look for one. A
jumper is fleetingly mentioned in the documentation but it only says to
look at another document which they dont provide!

Anyone know if/where the jumper is likely to be on the card?

Its a Crucial 9800Pro.

Strange thing was the dipswitches were hidden under a thick yellow
transparent film I had to break to alter the position. Suppose its an
anti-tamper measure I suppose.

It is usually to stop the switches filling up with fluid when they wash the
board during manufacture.

Hi
Can you explain me what's your problem exactly and how the switch resolved
it. I started a thread in a french forum (http://atifrst.nexenservices.com/)
to help peoples who have problem with TV out, but i don't know exactly what
this switch do exacctly. Mine is set to NTSC (My card is PAL and i have no
problem with tv out).

Thanks.
It allows you to display the BIOS screen and DOS text modes on the TV
screen in the correct mode (ie PAL instead of NTSC). ie before you boot
windows.

In your case you will get a PAL picture before booting into Windows, but
as soon as Windows has booted you will get whatever TV mode you selected
in the drivers (NTSC in your case).

In my case I was getting a washed out/stretched picture before booting
into Windows because my PAL TV didnt like NTSC signals. I flicked the
switch over and now card send out a PAL signal before booting into
windows, the TV is happy (the picture is correct now) and so am I.

If you arent bothered about using the TV outside of windows (or your TV
copes ok with both NTSC and PAL) then theres little point in altering
the switch as the correct setting in the ATi drivers will take care in
windows.

Thanks

But i'm not sure this switch works for all. I live in french country so my
TV is PAL, the bios card is set to PAL (according to Radedit) and my driver
is set to PAL, but the switch is set to NTSC and the boot screen on my TV is
clear.

I'll try later to put the switch to PAL position to view if it change
something.
