I have created a database that checks for an excel file, if the file is
present, it will append the data to the Data Table and open the Main Form, if
no excel file exists, then the the main form opens. this which works fine.
However I have now converted the file to mde format to use as the frontend
for users.
When the user is running Access 97 Runtime, if there is no excel file the
system works fine, but when an excel file is present the user gets the
following popup message and the system locks. "couldn't find installable
ISAM."
I have searched through here for an answer, but cannot find a solution, one
similar prob did suggest removing the database password, My system is
password protected which I would prefer to keep.
Can anyone please suggest a fix?
