911 -Word doc converted but not found

I repaired a Word document that initially would not open.

I did the open and repair. – not sure what was corrupt so I’m not sure if
it was fixed but it looked fine.

I then tried to convert it to a pdf file saving it as its original file name
only with a pdf extension on the back.

It tries converting to a pdf file. The little spinning acrobat symbol
appears in the lower right hand corner of the computer.

This symbol disappeared when the dialog box said (creating tags for page 1)

Yet I could see that it was still analyzing the document. The dialog box
then said finished analyzing document and then in the lower left hand side of
the screen it said word is converting doc to a pdf file. It got all done
with that and all that appeared on the screen was just the word document.
The pdf file never did pop up. Thought I might be able to find it in
explore, but nothing. It looks as if it never created the document.

Any ideas?

You are aware that it takes more than just naming a file xxx.pdf to make it
a .pdf file, aren't you?

Yes I am aware. I think I stated in the post that I used the convert to PDF
feature but it hangs and acts as if it is doing it but it doesn't.

Which program are you using to create the .pdf file?
