80Gb HD only shows 10GB

Put an 80GB western dig harddrive into an older 98SE setup. Know the MB
will take it as I've got 120GB on another computer with same board. How do
I get this one to recognize the total amount? Should I be using an 80 wire
cable? Think the one attached is the older 40 wire one. The new HD is a 100
UDMA and the board only takes 66. TIA Roberta

What is drive model number? What motherboard? Does BIOS show it as 10Gb?
40/80 wire is irrelevant.

Sounds like you could be using the bugged version of FDISK.
Microsoft released a patch for it,

Yeah- found the 40/80 doesn't fit!
