Does anyone know if the regular version XP Pro will
support 64-bit architecture, or is there a 64-bit version
of XP? I know that in 2003, Microsoft released Windows XP
64-bit Edition, but I wasn't sure if it's predecessor
supported it as well. I heard something about a version
of XP that needed SP1 to correct some 64-bit problems. Is
that the version of XP that was shipped in August 2001?
Any help would be most welcomed.

64 bit version is for the Itanium processors at the momment. You are more
than likely not running a PC with an Itanium processor for the processor is
very expensive. The AMD 64 bit is in beta test mode but the standard
version of XP (32bit) does work on the AMD 64bit processors.
