60 seconds???

Using XP Pro, select Start, programs, accessories, entertainment, sound
recorder. The recorder that comes up will only let me record for 60 seconds.
I need at least 4 or 5 minutes of recording time. I have read all of the help
topics and no where does it talk about changing the recording time. Does
anyone know how to increase the recording time? All help appreciated. Thank
you.

Save a "silent 60 second file", now insert as many copies of the file to
"generate" a recording session of the length you desire. Save it as a
"blank tape" if you will. Now open that "blank tape" and record.

Although this http://www.dak.com/reviews/t_LP_SR.cfm primarily concerns how to
use Sound Recorder to copy LPs to CDs, about half way down the page is a detailed
explanaton about making a template that will allow you to record an arbitrarily
long track.
