59Hz Refresh Rate?

I recently bought a Toshiba notebook equipped with a Radeon. It gives me two
refresh rate options 59Hz & 60Hz. I've never seen a 59Hz refresh rate
before. All my other LCDs' refresh rates are 60Hz.

Is the 59Hz a bug, or is there some special use for it?

Just a wild guess, but maybe it's there so you can change the refresh
rate in the unlikely event that your display has synced up with a
nearby single-tube fluorescent fixture running at 60Hz.

No, it's no bug. 59Hz is quite common in notebooks but less often on
desktops.
