552 5.3.4 message size exceeds size liimit

How do I fix this error? I am trying to send a PDF attachemnt (scan I did
myself)with my email.

552 5.3.4 a message size of 20482 kilobytes exceeds the size limit of 20480
kilobytes computed for this transaction
 
You should try zipping the PDF file to see if you an make it a bit smaller
in order to send. (Server has a 20MB limit and you are probably sending a
file that is just a bit over 15 or so. [basically size of file + 33% for
encoding the file for transmission])
