5 Questions!

Help with any or all of the below would be hugely appreciated:

1. When adding a new contact in Outlook 2003, the default phone numbers are
Business, Home, Business Fax and Mobile. I realise you can change the
fields, but is there a way to set as default your preferred arrangment? This
would then apply to others' contact cards when they are opened.

2. Is there a way to have more than 1 number under a specific field (such as
more than one 'Home Telephone' entry for one contact)? Outlook rejects any
attempt I make at doing this.

3. When synchronising with a Bluetooth device (my phone), can I instruct
Outlook to only synchronise certain details (I don't want home addresses on
my phone)? The phone software doesn't seem to allow me to specify this much
detail.

4. Is there a way of importing old Outlook Express local folders into
Outlook 2003? I can't seem to find how to do this.

5. Outlook 2003 seems have been been configured for business users. Is there
a way I can tell it that I'm a home user so its defaults will change
accordingly? (e.g. mailing address in contacts will be home not business)

Many, many thanks in advance!

1) No. You could try making the change then publishing the form.
2) No. Use a different field for the other numbers - like "Home 2"
3) That would be a feature of the sync software.
4) Mail folders? In OE, File, Export.
5) It was originally the Exchange client. No, you can't tell it you're a
home user and have it change automatically. See #1 and

Diane,

Thanks for your help - using form publishing, which I had never heard of, I
managed to create a form that sorts out points 1 and 5 (with the default
phone number fields appearing as wished). Two things arising, though:

1. Is it possible to set up a short cut to a new form? It's saved under
Outlook Folders. Something like Ctrl+Alt+[key]?

2. Is it possible to create more phone number field names beyond the list of
defaults? The current list is extensive (the one that appears when hitting
the drop-down arrow on the new contacts form), but is possible to amend
these names or add to them?

Once again, your help is much appreciated. Many thanks!

1) you can set it as default - so it opens automatically when you select new
contact - right click on the folder, choose properties and select it as the
form to us on the form selector. if it's published to the contacts folder,
it's on the actions menu when in that folder.

2) No. You can't add more or change those labels. You can add custom fields
(Tools, forms, Design options) that can hold numbers. Outlookcode.com is a
good place to start if you want to get into designing custom forms.
