5 options at Beginning of boot

When I turned on my computer, it showed the Windows XP and without even
starting to load, it restarts. Then I get the 5 options:

Safe Mode (and two others with Safe Mode on it)

Last Known Good Configuration
Start Windows Normally

I picked on any of them and the computer will restart and go to the five
options again. After a while, I pressed on Last Known Good Configuration and
it worked again.

I checked the Event Viewer and there was no error stated. Why did this
happen? What could be causing this?

PS: Can someone please give some brief info on Starforce? I kinda have
it......

Check your RAM modules integrity. Download/run any of the below utils per the instructions to test.
http://www.memtest86.com/
http://www.memtest.org/
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

The test/s must be run for at least 3 hrs to get an indication of bad RAM, overnight would be optimal.

Or

You could remove the cover from the base and systematically remove/swap RAM modules and RAM slots to check for failing/corrupt modules.
