For 5 1/2 months I have had the hacker from Hell. This is the 4th system for me. I have an online company, Exotic Wood Dreams.com and another one EWD Wholesale, LLC both sites have been comprimized by these people. They keep coming in different ways. They won't let me work on pictures or data bases or save my work to CD or Floppy. They seem to be in the drives or attach themselves somehow in the drives. From experience now, I know I don't have to be online, they actually can preset even a digital camera to infiltrate new systems which I now have 4 of due to this nightmare. I don't know where to go, I just can't seem to get them out and they are destroying us. Everything they have done is geared toward taking our businesses out. They use Media Player, preset my editing programs for pictures or will undo work I've done, they have my passwords through aquiring the keyboard through I think accessabilities, they also use sound. I know who it is, but I can't link them to the crimes so I can't get any help. I love my business, we're good at what we do and I don't want to loose it. I can't keep chasing them and bringing down my computers and now cameras in the process. Can anyone help! Donna

Hi:

You need to enable and properlly configure the Windows XP Firewall..
but should consider a third party firewall... they have the capability to
detect the intruder's IP address and even have the capability to back
trace to their computer and posibly get the proof you need to
proceed legally against them. A Pro version firewall should have the
functionallity needed to protect your website.

If you manage to get the intruder's IP address, print what the firewall
identifies by pressing the "Print Screen" button and if there's an option
to save a log file, do so.. it could posibly be the needed proof to proceed
against those people.

It seems the hackers are using spyware known as keyloggers to get your
passwords, etc. therefore change all passwords for all accounts in your
computers including the administrators passwords.
To change passwords: Start\Run\control userpasswords2\select account\click
Restore Password\ (jot it down before you type it to avoid forgetting it),
proceed to change the next account's passwords. Change the passwords
after you have deleted the spyware or secured your computers to avoid any
chance the spyware send out the new passwords before you delete them.

The programs you need to install to delete spyware from your computer are
Ad-aware6, Spybot S&D, HijackThis, and The Cleaner ..

You need to apply the critical security updates to block hackers accesing
your computers.
Go to this site for critical security updates.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Zone Alarm Firewall (theres a freeware version available)
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp

Ad-aware (is freeware)
http://lavasoft.element5.com/default.shtml.en

Spybot S%D (is freeware)
http://www.safer-networking.net/en/download/index.html

HijackThis (freeware). The tutorial page helps to identify spyware
processes in your system. Also there are forums to post a log file
of what HijackThis finds in your system so knowledgable folks will
help you ID the results before you delete anything
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

HijackThis Tutorial and links to forums.
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/htlogtutorial.html

The Cleaner (price is $49.95 with 30 days fully functional evaluation
period)

If you follow these instructions, you can probably beat those people
but if you still dont succeed, keep posting untill you do...
