5 Minutes to Copy 300MB File?

I have a external hard drive on my USB2 port.

I copied a 300MB file and it took over 5 minutes - plus another 2
minutes just "Calculating how long it will take".

Have I got something set up wrong or is this just Vista??? I hooked it
up to my XP Pro laptop to check it wasn't the external drive and it
did it in a few seconds.

I have read a few complaints about Vista slow copying but this is
crazy.

Why would you send a complaint in? This is not a threating post. If you
just enjoy sending in complaints, you will be the one in trouble.

Why do you keep taling about an imposter? My e-mail address is different
than your e-mail address. It is similiar but it is different. There is
nothing wrong here.

So you think you own the Internet? Guess again. Why not send an e-mail to
the account and I will reply to prove that this is a legit account.

Incorrect. The Military owns the internet. The rest are just users and
renters.

I know my internet history. All the military bases and universities were
involved.
My works in communications. He knows. He was there at Maxwell and Gunter
where it got started.

Actually I met this guy in a bar one time about 10 years ago and he had an
article saying that he was the inventor of the Internet. He had this nice
plaque on the wall and the picture showed him with two other high ranking
military officers. It had to be true.

We were drinking quite alot then but I remember it well.

Kev, I copied 980MBs music files from Vista comp to XP comp via cat5 ethernet
cable.
Including calculating time, it took 3 and 1/2 minutes.

OK smartie pants. Ever heard of Maxwell Air Force Base?
My dad still works there. He has a high security clearance. Because of the
Invasion of Iraq, the military shifted the cargo planes (which before the
war were being used to train those officers) to Iraq, a company called
Dynocorps took over all communications there. My father was one of them.
He's talked the The General before and is friends with other members of the
Air War college. He has to. Its his JOB. He works on key systems. A key
system also telephones and the internet. The actual internet hub is at
Gunter. Gunter Air Station. A building called The Blockhouse. I've seen it
and been in it. BTW Tell that man I said hello.
