48-bit HD Support Failed

I'm trying to use a Western Digital 160 GB drive without
a slave, and I'm still hit with the 137 limitation after
trying several fixes. Here's what I've done -

- Started with a single 15GB partition for OS (Windows XP
Pro)
- Updated to include ALL service packs
- Followed all instructions in article Q303013
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;303013)
- Applied the Atapi.sys version 5.1.2600.1135 hot fix
from article 331958
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-
US;331958)
- Updated motherboard (ASUS A7A266) bios to version 1012
which supports 48-bit according to their website
(http://www.asus.com/support/english/techref/48bithdd/inde
x.aspx)

All registry and bios settings are now correct, all
hardware should be compatible, and OS should be
compatible. But when I go to format the second
partition, it only allows me to do 113GB! The Western
Digital software doesn't help because it won't allow
changes to the OS drive (the only one in the machine).

I am at a loss! Anyone have any other work arounds or
suggestions? Thanks!

Are you running XP's Disk Management? It should show you the entire
drive, including existing partitions and unallocated space.
