Using Win XP PRO
It's been a 2 month that we have this computer.
Let see if we can explain the problem.

when we open a folder (it does not matter Win Explorer or C:/ , D:/ , E:/
ort F:/ drive) loaded with image files all the icons appeared fast and
ready.

Now when we open the same folders all image files icons very slowly starting
from the top one by one becomes icons and ready, it is really gets to be
slower and slower every day specially when we use thumbnails.

we face the same problem, when we burned images to a CD or DVD, at the
beginning transferring files was fast, now everything very slow, we use NERO
or NTI DVD burner.

We defrag every week, clean all the Temp folders we have 35 GB every drive
and we have 512 MB of Ram.
Is the problem the video card?
Do we need more memory?
Could some one please give us an idea what's happening and what is the
solution.
Thanks in advance,

Are you also cleaning out the cached folders? Are you
running DISK CLEANUP to get rid of unwanted files? Are
you defragging your harddrive as well?

Overall its hard to say but I have seen this with volumes that have a
consistently large amount of data added. So, if you started with say 12
pics, then it would be fast, if that number has grown to 12000 now, then it
is going to take more time to draw all the preview thumbs or folder icons.

Actually we save all the images from folder/Image files to a CD or DVD and
start all over again, this way gets to be archived all the images.
But even with few image files it takes long time to thumbnails, or save to a
CD or DVD.

The entries (for the old location) would still be in the registry, but now pointing to non-existent entries.

Have you tried saving the images directly to CD-RW?

Just a thought.

I agree. You may just need to clean the Registry. Try a Registry Cleaner
such as JV16 to identify and remove unneeded stuff BUT BE CAREFUL.

If you dont feel comfortable altering the registry, most of your local
computer repair shops offer some sort of registry clean up. My advise would
be to call around and see what is offered in your area. Back up everything
before you bring it.

The problem could be caused by a couple of things and without being able to
view the system, its hard to troubleshoot.
