Hi group

I've a slight compatibility problem in that i have a AMD xp 3000 barton
333fsb and ddr400 ram, it appears that i need to use ddr333 otherwise it
won't boot up?

As a result i get as far as the bios setup screen.

Is there an alterntative to buying ddr333 ram?

Set the memory speed to 166MHz in the bios.

Some motherboards require you to change a pin setting to the correct memory
speed , check your manual.

No, RAM will run slower than it's rating.

Set the speed to the processor's FSB, 333: a 166 MHz clock.
