Hi

Some people aren't as au fait as you might be with XP - you have to take that into consideration before you post message such as you have.

Richard

Try any of the following - possibly the 'systeminfo' option first:

From a command prompt type "systeminfo" - without the quotes. If you see X86, you have the 32-bit version. Also courtesy of MVP Kelly Theriot.

and for the adventurous person:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Environment. In the right pane: Processor_Architecture should
read: x86 for 32 bit.

ok then Ill wait for a 66bit machine.

A 65-bit machine would be 'parity impaired'.

Hi

Then you would have a double parity problem. If you are not sure about parity, may I suggest that you now bow out of this thread with dignity before you get embarrassed.

hi
anyone know how to find out if my my version of xp is
32 bit or 64 bit?
Richard
Take your computer outside. Place in on the ground and hit it with a
sledgehammer twenty times. Count the number of "bits" it breaks into;
that will tell you what "bit" version of XP you have.
