3 1/2 floppy drive

Just recently i am having problems accessing the floppy
drive, recieve error message A:\ not accessible -
incorrect function. I have replace the floppy drive and
still have the same problem.
Running XP-Home
512 MB Memory
40 GB HD
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
