Hello,

Since I upgraded from Windows98 to XP, my 3 1/2" floppy
drive won't work. I cannot write to it or read from it.
Any suggestions as to how to get it working again?

Thanks

try control panal and add hardware wizzard
Actually, Windows XP has some problems with floppies. When you say
"drive won't work", does the drive physically work? Does the light go
on when you insert a disk? Is the drive seen in the BIOS before Windows
loads? If the drive looks good, then is the issue that you can't work
with floppies created in Win98? The workaround for that is to format
some floppies in your WinXP box and then take the older floppies to
another machine running Win98. Copy the contents of the older floppies
to the hard drive, and then copy onto the floppies you made in XP.
Hopefully you'll be able to read the data then.

If not, well floppy drives do die. Try replacing yours with a new one.
They cost around $10-15 usd.
