2PCs communication problem

2 PCs, named H and H1
IPs
192.168.100.10 running WXP Home with SP2
and
192.168.100.11 running WXP Home
linked by ethernet LAN crossover cable.
Each PC pings itself and the other.
Windows and Norton firewalls disabled.
Files in each PC enabled to share.
H1 sees and reads files on H.
H produces message on attempting to see and read H1:
<H1 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource.
Contact the administrator of this service to find out if you have access
permissions.
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at
this computer.>

Advice please?

it is possible that
H might not have permission to use the H1 folder.

Check NTFS permissions for the shared folder on H1.
Does the user logged into H have permission to access the folder on H1 ?
