I am trying again am I posting in the worng news group?

I have a workgroup hooked up to 7 machines. One machine serves as
a"file server" and has one Folder with many subfolders under it set to
be a share for everyone.

All but one machine can access these folders with no issue. However
the one that can not gets a prompt to login with the name prefilled
out "L-Jane" (not his name) and a open password space. No password
seems to work. He did not have an account on the "file server" So i
created one for him with the same password as his workstation this did
not help the problem. In addition he is running XP Pro SP2 as are all
the other machines

Thanks in advance.

Double check that the account has identical user names and passwords
on the "file server" and the problem computer.

Make sure that the account is included in the Everyone group on the
"file server".
