Try installing it on the Secondary IDE channel as Master. What is the
Capacity of the newer hard drive?

I recently upgraded my TIVO system by putting a larger hard drive in.

Since I had the HD that I had taken out sitting around, I decided to put it
into my PC. It is a 40 GB Maxtor. I put it in setting jumpers correctly,
etc. and all is well with the exception of it shows a total capacity of 9MB.
Any ideas?

The one that was in there already is 30GB. If I change it to the secondary as master, do I then move the cd to primary slave?

See if it works first. If yes, then connect the CD to Secondary slave.
