I have installed a 2nd hard drive, It works fine, but when I try to
install Vista Public Beta on the 2nd drive (for the purpose of dual
booting) it tells me that I need to change boot settings in the BIOS,
the problem is that the BIOS can't see the 2nd hard drive. Anyone got
any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks.

If the BIOS doesn't see a drive, then it's either broken or installed
incorrectly.

Check your cabling and jumpers.

Does it work if it's the only drive in the PC?

Yes, its formatted as basic not dynamic, I can install the beta as far
as the last step where it needs to boot into vista to finish the setup
and it cant load because of the hard drive boot problem

Have you set the partition on the HDD as active?

What error message does it present, "Disk I/O Error" ? - if so,
then it may be a non-4K Cluster issue on the partition/volume.

Is the new drive a SATA drive and the old one not? You may need to install
drivers for your SATA controller. You should repost this to one of the Vista
newsgroups with more details about your hardware configuration.

Try microsoft.public.windows.vista.installation_setup
