Symptom is displayed by holding down the 'Fn' function key and keys return. Disable 'numlock' by typing 'shift'&'Scrlk'. I usually get into this mode by taking a screen-shot and pressing the wrong key sequence instead of 'shift'/PrtSc'. Enjoy
