In all these years working with computers, I finally caught a break:
I found an Epson 2450 with only a power cable.
One hour later and only $20 I have a scanner that will last me a long time.
Yours,
Tom

Sounds like a great deal, if it is in good working order.

So far,
So good.
Tested CN from about 20 years ago, B&W 35 from the 60s and from my stay in
Europe in the 50's. I am amazed, even in the "advanced" mode, on how
effortless it is to get high quality, color corrected scans. I have never
used a dedicated film scanner and have in the past used creative ways
(http://www.tom-elliott-photography.com/hp-scanner.html) to scan at home
while using Kodaks Pro-Photo CD scans for paying jobs.
Now with my new Nikon D70 and this scanner I finally have the total control
I had/have with traditional film processing.
Yours,
Tom
