Okay, I have a Dell 1905fp which has a 20ms response time. I know
that it is recommended to use and LCD of 16 or lower for best gaming
visuals and to reduce ghosting. I do notice some ghosting in my monitor
playing first person shooters, but will playing these fast pace games
hurt my monitors life??? I realize that gaming is so fast that the
monitor cant keep up which what makes it ghost, but will it hurt my
screen since its only 20ms by putting too much strain on it (more than
gaming would hurt any other monitor). thx in advance..

Nope. I'm using a 25ms HP1702. Haven't noticed the ghosting...

A different monitor but I don't see any ghosting on my LG L1720B with a
quoted 25 ms response time. FWIW I don't think the ghosting on your monitor
is symptomatic of a problem.
