1. how can I choose tasks for selected days on the To-Do-Bar (this feature
was available in 2003 - Taskpad View).

2. Tasks in Calendar do work for selected days, but do not group by category

1) You can modify your view by right click on the column header and choose
Custom...

2) You can't; they are either sorted by Start or Due Date. For more
flexibility enable the To-Do Bar.

I'm not really sure what you mean by 1);
You select some days in the calendar and the Taskpad only showed the tasks
that had been scheduled to be completed on those days?

Basically you can see that in the Daily Task List below the calendar. What
functionality are you missing there?

Sorry if I didn't explain properly

In the to do bar I group task by categories- I can filter for "todays" task
(or completed etc). What I really need (because I have used so much in 2003)
is to click on a future date and then see the tasks which are dated (start
date) for that day - in Outlook 2003 this functionality was available in the
taskpad view " active tasks for selected days", which was an extrmely useful
and for me important funcionality.

Hope this helps to understand me

Many thanks

Yes, that helps. In Outlook 2007 by default you'll see the Daily Task List
in Calendar. This shows the task that are due or starting (option, default
is Due) on that specific day. This is pretty much what you had in Outlook
2003, right?

No, I haven't been able to recreate that specific functionality unless when
I apply an advanced filter to only show the dates I key in but that is a bit

Yhe workaround I found is to use the "timeline" view in tasks and gtoup by
categories. I can then scroll to the date and check out the required
information. It does not display as well etc and one has to scroll, but at
least it is better tan nothong.

I am also interested in this if possible, as everyone at my work uses "Active
Tasks for Selected Days" in the TaskPad.
I have looked around the Filter area, but I cant find anything to simulate
this feature. I have also looked around to find out what filter is used for
this Task View in previous versions, but have not yet found what filter is
used.

Guess so, but I'll make sure your wish will be heard by the Outlook devs
next week so we might see some more level of customization options to the
Daily Task List and/or To-Do Bar in SP1.

the"To-Do-Bar" groups by categories, but does not show by selected day

In 2003 I the "Task Pad View" showed by selectedday and could be

category. How can I get the "To-Do-Bar" to show only selected days,
because I
understand from you that I caanot group the "Daily Task List".

Yes, that helps. In Outlook 2007 by default you'll see the Daily Task
List
in Calendar. This shows the task that are due or starting (option,
default
is Due) on that specific day. This is pretty much what you had in
Outlook
2003, right?

Sorry if I didn't explain properly

In the to do bar I group task by categories- I can filter for
"todays"
task
(or completed etc). What I really need (because I have used so much
in
2003)
is to click on a future date and then see the tasks which are dated
(start
date) for that day - in Outlook 2003 this functionality was
available
in
the
taskpad view " active tasks for selected days", which was an
extrmely
useful
and for me important funcionality.

Hope this helps to understand me

I'm not really sure what you mean by 1);
You select some days in the calendar and the Taskpad only showed
the
tasks
that had been scheduled to be completed on those days?

Basically you can see that in the Daily Task List below the
calendar.
What
functionality are you missing there?

Thank you for the attempt and the knowledge we wont get a fix.

Would you be able to find out if there is a "fix around" for the problem?
For example is there some SQL code that could be written that looks for the
date selected on the Date Navigator?

This isn't an addition though; if anything, it's a subtraction LOL! It's not
a "new feature" as it is definitely possible in 2003 and previous versions;
if you select next Friday on the Calendar, you can see next Friday's
appointments and, along side it in the taskpad, you can see next Friday's
tasks only (based on the start date and due dates). This is really the most
effective way to view your objectives for the day.

Is there anything else we can do here to get it back Roady? Sorry; do you
work for Microsoft - I can't tell from your info.
