2007 pics in message

using outlook 07 on a private standalone computer. My son sent me a picture
within the message, but it seems I cannot save just the picture (in outlook
express I was able to use the save command within reading a message). Can
someone tell me how to save a picture within an html message?

That's not an option on a picture in Outlook 2007. It will only show "Copy"
and then expects you to paste that within a separate picture editor tool but
when you use that, the original format of the picture is lost (it is copied
as bmp) so you'd be breaking gif-animation or the optimized compression or
the exact color palette that was used (depending on the original format).
Additional meta information is also lost.
