Want to add a 2003 DC to a 2K domain. Last time I
attempted this the Domain Security Policy of the 2003 DC
overwrote the Domain Security Policy we already had in
place - e.g. turned on password complexity, etc. How can I
prevent the 2003 DC from overwriting the current GPO and
Domain Security Policy we already have in place in our 2K
domain? Is there a TechNet article on this? Thanks!

Would greatly appreciate a response via email, if it isn't
too much trouble.

It shouldn't have overwritten the Domain policy settings. However are the things
that seemed to have been overwritten actually undefined in the 2K policy? If so
what you probably saw was that the local security policy of the K3 DC was
kicking in because there was nothing to override it.

The way to get around that is to locl at secpol.msc on the 2K3 DC and ascertain
what is being set in the local policy and override the setting in the domain
policy so it the local policy gets overruled.
