2003/2007 versions

I am about to install Office Home and Student 2007 on a new notebook. Docs
will later be "stored/archived" on a desktop which uses the 2003 version.
Will I be able to open the docs that are generated on the notebook using '07
once I save them on the desktop? Do I need to install the software on both?
 
If you have the compatibility pack installed on the system with 2003 you'll
be fine. Assuming you aren't using a feature that is new since 2007.
