Hello,

We have a mixed network enviroment,

2000 server as the file server and master domain.

XP machines and Mac OSX clients, the problem is when a MAc OSX client
machines joins our domain it turns into the master browser (when the windows
file sharing option is on the OSX machine).

the 2000 server is set to be the master, why is this happening? what can I
do to solve this?

thanks

Hi Andrew!

Download a copy of SharePoints from <http://www.versiontracker.com>.
Under the SMB Properties heading you can set the option for Master
Browser for your machine.

Hope this helps! bill

Thanks for the reply,

but I am trying to have the OSX machines to STOP taking over as the master
domain, I want to have the 2000 server to be the master.

Any ideas?

Andrew

Hi Andrew!

Maybe I wasn't clear. You can set the option, on or off, for your Mac OS
X machine to be a master browser using the SharePoints software.

I've noticed that it seems to be on by default.

Good luck! bill
