Help...

When I look at the advance properties on the security tab of a newly
created OU, I have several items that are marked "not inherited" and
"apply to this object only". Can someone tell me where these maybe
coming from?

If it says 'not inherited' it means that the permissions where not inherited
from an object above. 'Apply to this object only' means that the permission
only applies to this specific object and will not affect other objects.

It means the permissions are on the OU object itself, not inherited from its
parent. All objects have default permissions laid down on them based on their
schema definition. These are the explicit permissions you are seeing.
