2000 < 98

Is it possible to downgrade from 2000 to 98? We just don't
like 2000 at all and have gotten a used computer and want
to convert it to 98. I've had experience with upgrades but
have never went backwards. Would all the commands be the
same? fomat.exe fdisk.exe? What about the BIOS and FAT?
Anything else to take into consideration?

Don't waste your time asking why or telling me not to do
it. The "better half" wants it this way and she is in
charge.

You can't downgrade, simply because Win98 does not
"know" about Win2000. You must re-install Win98.

The hard drive had WIN2000 when I got it. So I'm wanting
to reformat the hard drive and then install WIN98, that is
what you meant by "re-install"... correct?

I understand that I can't put a 98 disk into the 2000 OS
and down grade where as I could put a 98 disk into a 95 OS
and up grade. I know how to fdisk and and format C: \S

The specific question is more asking if the BIOS, FAT, and
partition of the WIN2000 OS will work on WIN98 or will I
have to do some changes to them.

I believe he could also use the Windows 98 Startup Disk with format.com on it. Also put edit.com on it also.
