20 GB (Unicode) file...or NOT?

Hi,

I just recently learned that older .PST files didn't automatically convert
to the newer Unicode format with the 20GB file size limit. This was after
almost losing a file that grew beyond the old 2GB limit. I've perfomed
the conversion according to instructions: make a new data file and IMPORT
all the items from the old .PST file. But since I'm now paranoid about
the whole area, is there some way to check that the new file actually is in
the new, larger format...short of waiting till it grows bigger than 2GB!

TIA.

Right click on Personal Folders and select Properties. Select Advanced
button. If the file type mentions "Personal Folders File (97-2002)" it is
the old format limited to <2GB. If the "(97-2002)" is not present, its the
new format.

As for file size, if the PST file sits on a FAT32 partition, then it will be
limited to < 4GB. This is because this file system only permits a single
file to grow to this size. So in order to achieve the 20GB file size, the
PST has to be on a NTFS partition.
