Hi

I have a frustrating problem between my two laptops (dell) (windows xp home
and pro) which I am trying to connect on an ad-hoc network. I have gotten it
working before, but now they no longer see each other. I have removed network
encryption, put host machine on 192.168.1.2 and other laptop on 192.168.1.3.
Ipconfig states that my host machine ip is 168.254.11.219. However I can't
ping the other laptop, and the other laptop can't ping the host. I have
removed all firewalls that I can find, including windows xp's firwall. I have
also shared all my drives etc.

I would really appreciate any advice.
Thanks

HI
168.254.11.219 in this case, means that the computer is not configure
correctly with static IP. Go over the setting make sure that the DHCP is Off
in the TCP/IP properties.
Jack (MVP-Networking).
