I have 2 copies of windows XP Home on my Hard Drive. Only 1 is the original.
Ineed to get rid of the 2nd WindowsXP. Unfortunately the 2nd XP that does not
really belong is the one that gets me online, but WMPlayer doesn't work
properly, I cant do any Burning, and many other thinks I cant do. When I go
into the original version, WMPlayer works just fine, I can Burn but cant burn
any files from Version that I have been using to get online etc. A complete
system restore was done with the Gateway CD's that came with the computer, I
left a PCI card in that did not originally come with computer(WinTV), and
thats when the 2nd version of Windows XP Home got there, I Think!!!
I took the WinTV Card out but I am afraid to do another Complete Restore
with the CD's that came with computer as I don't want to do any more damage.
There are also files on the 2nd version which I can't save or Burn and I
don't want to loose them.
I think(Icould very well be wrong!!!!!!!!) that leaving that WinTV card in
when I did the CD Restore could have been my problem??????
Any More Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated!!!!
"Thanks peterk for your earlier help, I will be trying what you suggested"
Thanks everyone for your great help, I've learned alot just reading the posts.
