Using XP Pro SP2 I have a simple wireless connection to a broadband
connection. This facilitates the use of a wireless laptop. The wireless
router is positioned via a telephone extension socket to the front of the
property.
I want to use a desktop pc (XP Pro SP2) from a distant location on the other
side of the property via another telephone extension socket in that area. The
distance between these two locations is too great for the wirelss signal and
too awkward to run a cat5 cable between them.
I have a standard broadband router (non wireless) which I can utilise in
this required secondary location for the desktop pc.
Will this use of two different types of router into the one telephone system
work OK and what specifics should I be aware of in connecting and
configuration?
Thanks in anticipation.
