Yes. You'll need to use crossover (not straight-through) cable.

i wanted to find out what you mean by this, i want to link 2 comps together
through a usb cord, is that possible, i need to link them to fix one, it
doesn't load anything.

All the USB-USB adapters I've seen require that special software be loaded
or run on each PC to make the connection work, so I doubt it will be of any
use in your situation.
